Inspired Stamps- Honor our Military

Hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend.  We want to continue to honor our Military men and Women with today's post.  Thank you so much for your service to our country to protect our freedoms.  We send up a prayer of protection for each and every one of you and your families here at home. May the Lord guard and protect you and give you peace.
I used two stamp sets for my card today.  I used HLO Soldier Boy and  Psalm 91 Protection, Inspired Stamps.  I colored the Soldier Boy with Copic markers and fussy cut him and adhered him to card.
I cut large star with Sizzix die (boy it has been a while since I have used this die :)) I stamped Psalm 91:11 in center in blue ink, Memento.  To the red cardbase, I used the three stars in this set and Versamark ink to make a background on the upper half of the base. I used a piece of white  Recollections tape that I inked with the same Memento blue ink and adheared to card.  Just a clean and simple card to honor our military.  Operation Write Home (OWH) is always looking for card donations to send to our military so they can write home to loved ones.  The cards need to be CAS, no glitter or raised embellishments.  Inspired Stamps supports OWH.  Check out Antoinette's blog for more information.
Have a great day and thank you for stopping by to visit.

Inspired Stamps- Father's Day

Hey Inspired Stamps is having a Memorial Day sale all week long: May 24-31.  You can receive 25% off your total order woo hoo!  Inspired Stamps are made in the USA and they celebrate God and our Military.
I have trouble with masculine cards.  I really don't know what it is but I always seem to get a creative block.  I made both of my Father's Day cards with the Men of Favor set, Inspired Stamps.  For the First card I used some metal duct tape which I adheared to a piece of cardstock for more stability and used Spellbinders Sprightly Sprocket set. My DD really wanted this set and I put off purchasing it but I think they look great.  I had some of the sprockets go off the edge and under the scripture.  I used silver memory tape on two edges of the verse.

For my second card I used the woodgrain embossing folder by Tim Holtz and some phillips head brads.
I cut the window out of wood layer and black layer for a matte and used scripture from Men of Favor set and the Father's Day sentiment.  Father's Day is coming up take advantage of this awesome sale and pick up this set to make cards for the men in your life.  It has many verses and words to personalize your card.
Thank you for stopping by today and looking.  Please leave a comment on how you plan to honor the "Father" in your life.
Have a great day!

Penny Black- Mother's Day Card

Ooo la la, it is another Mother's Day card.  I love this set by Penny Black (Mimi).  What a better Mother's Day than a little cafe in Paris?  My mom does not enjoy traveling so I brought Paris to her with this card.

Little Mimi was fun to color and then I stamped the sign and Eiffel Tower in the background with spotlight coloring.

Here is the entire card.  Red is a favorite of my mom.  I used the black scallop (Fiskars punch).

I used the ooo la la from this set and the other sentiment from Ditto mother's day set.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.  I will be back tomorrow with an Inspired Stamps post with a new post and announcement.  Please visit again then.

Hero Arts- Mother's Day card

Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I wanted to share over the next few posts some Mother's Day cards I made.  This card was made for a sweet friend of mine.  She used to sew from patterns and I thought she would love this.  I fell in love with this dress pattern stamp from Hero Arts as soon as I saw it.  I have sewn from a pattern a few times, but I am definitely not in my comfort zone.  I would much rather make things from paper (like this lovely card!)
I made the card base from my fav, Kraft cardstock.  (I love, love, love, black ink on Kraft cardstock). I used the Hero Art alphabet and numbers background stamp stamped directly on the background with Tuxedo black ink.  I used vintage photo distress ink around the edges.  I stamped the dress pattern image on white cardstock and then used antique linen distress ink and a little vintage photo around the edges.  I added a black scallop (Fiskars border punch) and a bit of lace at the bottom.  I still felt it needed something so I pulled in a rolled flower paperclip that my friend could remove and use as a bookmark.
I hope you like my vintage Mother's Day card.  I love how it turned out.  Thank you for stopping by and please share your comments, I really love to hear from you other talented ladies.  Have a great weekend.  Check back in a few days for I will share my other Mother's Day card created from Penny Black stamps.

Unity- Friends With Flair

Hello Unity gals, it is Friday and time for Friends with Flair.
I wanted to use this sweet image  Little Girl Believes (Itty Bitty) and I just purchased some ProMarkers aqua, so I wanted to give her a watercolor look.  I found these markers work best on watercolor paper, not on regular cardstock.  I tried and tried to come up with a design and whack, hit a wall everytime.  So here is a CAS design using this sweet image.  All the cardstock was from my scraps (at least that was good, trying to use up scraps.  The set of ProMarkers I purchased only had 6 colors, so I tried to stay within that color palette. I added a little glaze and glitter, for more sheen and bling in real life.  Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Inspired Stamps- Anything But a Card

Hello everyone.  Today the Inspired Stamps DT were asked to make "anything but a card".  I saw this scripture holder at a local store and thought I can make that, so here is my attempt.  I used several Inspired Stamp sets.  I thought this would be a great source of inspiration or perhaps to aid in scripture memory.  Just change the card out each day or each week. I used a white crayon to trace around the image  and then inked with Distress ink, (peeled paint) and wiped off the excess ink with soft cloth to achieve the shadow.
Here are the some of the supplies. Cardboard (recycled), dp, business cards, cardstock, edger die (to cut top shape), grudge board (used for card holder), ribbon, distress ink, Memento ink, Spellbinders and lots of Inspired Stamps.

Here is the finished product with a different scripture card.  I used verses and images from several Inspired Stamp sets: Guard Your Heart, His Word, Card Ministry Basics, His Cross, Trees and Leaves, His Plans For You, Be Still Silhouettes, Bind and Stitch. Below you can see the back.  I covered the cardboard with cardstock for a more finished look.

Scripture cards that can be changed out as you desire.  I think this would make a great gift for a graduate or shut in, or anyone else who you feel might need a bit of encouragement.  I hope you enjoyed my post.  Thanks for stopping by, if you have any questions please let me know.  Please check out the other DT members creations today as well.  Have a great day!

Unity- Friends with Flair

It is Friday and I made this ribbon bookmark with Unity's Ippity Books a Flutter stamp for Friends With Flair.  When I saw this cute stamp set (2) I knew I had to have it.  We love to read in my house.

I saw this clever idea out in the blog-o-sphere (not sure where) of making these ribbon bookmarks with elastic hairbands.  I had trouble getting my ribbon to stick to itself, but after several types of adhesives it is sticking.  (I tried sticky strip to find all end let go, tried glossy accents to find it went through all layers and then tried glue dots and everything has stayed for over a week, sliding it on and off books).
I will still be looking for an alternative adhesive, so if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.

I used Spellbinders to cut the pieces.  I used two pieces of black so that I could attach them with a brad in the middle of the hair band and then cover over the brad with the image panel. I folded over the ribbon and glued under for a clean edge.  I used a gem on each end for some bling (and to cover where the glossy accents bled through the ribbon :)).  I also added some clear Stickles to the butterfly for some more sparkle.  Below you can see the book open with the ribbon marking your page.

Here is the ribbon off the book.  It is very cute and clever way to mark your page.  Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think.  I am sorry the photos did not turn out better, but I hope you get the idea.  Happy Mother's Day to all you moms, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Inspired Stamps- DT choice

HisWord, Inspired Stamps, Distress inks background
and Martha Stewart ribbon.
Hello and happy Thursday!  This is a very busy time of the year for many with end of school year, graduations, graduation parties, and other such events.  It is very easy to get overwhelmed and forget what is important.  I made a very clean and simple (CAS) card reminding me what is important.
The stamps came from a set called His Word, Inspired Stamps.  I used my favorite distressed inks (peeled paint, wild honey, tumbled glass, broken china and faded blue jeans) to create the back ground.  I wanted it to look somewhat like a sunset.  I stamped right on the background, I wanted to leave everything as is, but I found myself needing to color in the candlestick.  So I did with Prisma pencils and then added a little stickles for the flame.  It seemed a little off balance so I added the turquoise (Martha Stewart) ribbon on the side.  I tinkered with the bow until I thought it was perfect.  The card base is Summer sunrise (PTI).  I rounded the corners for a bit of softness and voila!
I hope you like it, please leave me some kind words and thanks for stopping by.  Please visit the other Inspired Stamps DT members to see what they have created for you this week.

Unity-Friends With Flair

Hello Unity Friends with Flair. Sorry I am finding myself with very little time to create today, but I still wanted to play.
I chose this cute Itty Bitty to stamp and water colored it for a very soft baby girl card.  I embossed the background with Sizzix heart embossing folder and colored in hearts with white gel pen.  I embossed the card base with Cuttlebug folder and stamped welcome from Spring set, Unity.
Thank you for stopping by, I did not want to let Friday go by without playing along.
Have a great weekend and those of you with graduates, Congrats!!

Inspired Stamps May Release

Hello Everyone, Today myself and two of the other Inspired Stamps Designers are showing projects with this new set: Amazing Grace.  I used the this new set to make a card and a key chain.

I used the Cuttlebug music note embossing folder and inked with Distress inks.  I added a flourish (also in this set) in the blank space and then the words to Amazing Grace on a panel that I inked and rounded two corners.
The key chain was made by stamping the large image onto shrink plastic and inked with alcohol inks (lettuce, cranberry, latte and a bit of silver metallic). I covered the back of image with a plastic sheet and added silver foil tape around the edges.  I added some beads a heart charm and a key ring with a key (love).  The shrink plastic is very light so it makes for great key chains.  I hope you enjoy my projects, please check out Anita and Belinda for more projects using this great set and then check the other designers each day throughout the week for more new releases.  All the new releases will be available at the Inspired Stamps store at noon on Friday.  Make sure to check out Antoinette's blog for more sneak peak surprises throughout the week.Thank you for stopping by and have a great week.
