Unity-Friends with Flair

Hello Unity Friends with Flair, it is Friday and a long weekend.  Two bonuses.  Hope you can get some crafting or relaxing done this weekend.
I needed a sympathy card for a sweet friend who just lost a loved one.  I tried to get a distressed, worn look with embossing and inking.  I used two Unity sets for this card:  Moments in Bloom and With Sympathy.  I stamped flowers with brown memento ink and then watercolored with some distress inks to add some color.  This is mostly a solid image stamp but I think you can see that some color is showing through.
Thanks for looking, sympathy cards are difficult to make.

Inspired Stamps- Thursday DT

Today the Thursday DT was asked to make projects for Christmas, as was the Tuesday DT.
You can check out all projects for this week at the Inspired Stamps blog .
For this weeks post I decided to try something, thinking a "bit out of the box".  I used three different sets to complete this project, Perfect Christmas sentiments, Winter Ruth and the Nativity set.

I stacked the various Christmas sentiments to form the shape of a tree.  I stamped them in Versa mark ink and embossed with Old Olive embossing poweder on a piece of 4X4 art canvas (Hobby Lobby).  I inked with Vintage photo and walnut distress inks.  I stamped the presents and ornament on pattern paper, cut out.  I used thin strips to act as the ribbon.  I had a piece of art canvas (Dollar Tree) and covered the picture with Christmas paper.  I used Ranger Glue and Seal to attach the paper to the canvas.  I used some green paper ribbon to cover the edges and made a paper bow. I added a piece of lace on the bottom.  I really like how this piece of home decor.  Please leave me a comment, letting me know what you think and be sure to check out these sets along with many others to start on your Christmas projects.  Christmas is less than 4 months away, so it is time to get crafting (Christmas cards, gifts, home decor).  Have a great day and be sure to check out the rest of the DT and their lovely Christmas projects this week.

Perfect Christmas Sentiments
Winter RuthDo you see the present and the ornament?  I inked these to leave off the hands and then used a marker to fill in  empty space (where hands were)
Nativity SetDo you see the star?  I just stamped the star and colored with Copic markers and cut out.

Unity-Friends with Flair

Hello Friends with Flair, I made this creation with stamps from Treasure to me, Unity.  I found these resin vases at Michael's on clearance and wanted to try a card with them, so here is what I came up with.  I don't think I would be able to send it in the actual mail without special envelope and additional postage, but it sure did turn out cute.  I cut the background piece with Labels 22, Spellbinders and inked with distress ink.  I stamped a couple of floral images right on paper and then cut out a few and pop dotted for more dimension.  Have a great week end and thanks for looking.

Inspired Stamps-Thursday DT-Thanks

Hello and welcome to the Thursday DT for Inspired Stamps. This week Inspired Stamps started two days of DT.  There is a Tuesday DT- this week they created cards with characters and scripture and the Thursday DT- we were to make creations giving thanks or Thank You themes.  Here is what I came up with using the Fall Gratitude set and Daisy Hill dp.  All the dp was from the same paper pack (even the butterflies that I fussy cut) and then I added the scripture to the bottom of the panel.  I love the colors and the dimension.  I rounded the corners for a softer look and used the Fiskars scallop punch for two layers for more visual interest.  Please be sure to check out the other DT members for all their beautiful creations this week and be sure to visit Inspired Stamps blog every Tuesday and Thursday for more wonderful projects.  The stamps from last week's release are in the Inspired Stamps Store so please be sure to check them out.  Remember all the stamps are made in the USA.  Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Unity-Friends with Flair

Hello I wanted to play with Unity Friends with Flair again this week.  This card was made with a really cute set from Jillibean Soup called Dutch Mustard.  As you can see from the photo it has lots of cute images like flowers and butterflies and sentiments.  This set also comes with the frames around the images, I stamped them in different colored inks and used my Fiskars scallop punch to punch out the circles.  I added a small piece of dp and some ribbon to finish off the design.
You can't tell from my photo but the background white cardstock was embossed with Cuttlebug folder and circles were popped up with dimensional tape.  I also added glossy accents to the butterflies and the centers of the flowers.  Thanks for visiting today, have a great weekend.

Bridal Shower card

Hello everyone!  I just wanted to share a card I made for a bridal shower recently for a dear, sweet couple in my church.  I tried my hand at a little shabby chic.  I used a ivory card base that I stamped French script background, SU! and inked edges with walnut distress ink, I punched a lace border, Martha Stewart and inked as well.  On a piece of Kraft cardstock I first offstamped the grid background, Kaisercraft.  The flower image is from Best Friends, Inkadinkado and the sentiment is from Expressions, Inkadinkado in rich cocoa, Memento. I inked the edges and punched the notebook edge, EK Success.  I colored in the flower image with a white gel pen to make it pop.  I hope you like it.  Please let me know what you think.  I thought the sentiment was perfect for a new couple or any couple for that matter.  I hope you are all having a good week.  School is back in full swing here in my neck of the woods and we are trying to get back into the routine.

Inspired Stamps- Sneak Peek August Release

Hello everyone.  We are having a sneak peek at the August Inspired Stamps Releases.  Today Jenn, Patty and myself are using a new set called "Feel Better", this set comes with some great stamps to make a sweet card for a friend who is under the weather.  There is this cute bandage, scripture Psalm 103:2-3, the feel better stamp I used on my card, a cute pill bottle with heart shaped pills, flowers and more.  This a is very versatile set to cheer up anyone who is not feeling well.

I chose to make a border by stamping the bandage on several colors of cardstock (PTI).  I also punched a heart from each color and popped up the heart on each bandage.  I used the Fiskars scallop punch to tie in the dp (PTI) with the cardstock.  The verse was stamped in Memento tuxedo black ink on a die cut oval, matted on scallop oval (Spellbinder).
Please be sure to check out the other DT members each day for a new stamp release and remember that all these new releases will be available in the Inspired Stamps Store on Saturday at noon.  Please make sure to stop by at the Inspired Stamps blog and leave a comment for a chance to win.

Unity-Friends with Flair

Hello everyone.  It has been a while since I have participated in Friends with Flair.  I always think I will have more time in the summer but it never seems to happen, so anyhoo... with school starting back up I hope I will find the time to play (Craft while the kids are at school  shhhh.  don't tell them hee hee).
I have wanted to use this cute itty bitty for a while and I finally made this card for my dh.  It is our anniversary and he is a "fungi" even after all these years.  I wanted to keep it cleand and simple since it is for a man (they don't like all the froo froo and bows).
Hope you are all having a great day.  Looks like rain here, but boy do we need it.

Inspired Stamps:What is your Style?

Hello Everyone today at Inspired Stamps, we are pleased to announce several new DT members (Patty, Leesa, Fabi, DeNetra).  There links are located on the sidebar with the other DT members.
To welcome them to the team and for you to get to know us a bit better, we were all asked, "What is your Style?"  This was hard for me to answer.  I love to learn new techniques and to make cards for specific individuals, customizing the card to their likes.  But if I had to answer based on what kind of card I make more often than any other, it would have to be cards with clean and simple designs.  I love to color images and I don't even mind "fussy cutting" the image as I did on the card below with the roses from the Flower buds set. I stamped the larger rose twice and cut the center from one of the images and pop dotted it to the center of intact rose.  I used the smaller buds with leaves to flank the larger rose and to frame out the scripture from the Proverbs 31 set.
I added a lace scallop frame in the green that matched the stripe in my dp and leaf color.  I added some brown ribbon and another bud at bottom of card for balance.  To complete the feminine feel I added a lace punched piece of trim to the bottom.  I asked some friends what they thought my style was and they said "frugal"  and that is because I make most cards from scraps.  I get an idea for a card and then look in my scrap file drawer and see if I have anything that will work before I cut up a whole sheet.  Do any of you do the same thing?  Thank you for visiting today and make sure to visit the other DT members and see their style and creations.  Make sure to make the new members of the team feel welcomed by sharing some kind words with them.  We all love to hear what you all think of our work.  Have a great day!

Inspired Stamps DT Character and scripture

Flowers and Label Maker Words, Inspired Stamps
This week at Inspired Stamps, the DT was asked to make a project using a character and scripture.  I chose to use four different sets: Flowers, 7.99, Label Maker Words, 13.99, HLO, girl studying, 4.99, and His Word, 13.99.

I used the sunflower from the Flowers set and three of the words from Label Maker Words to make a border down the side of the card.  I liked the yellows with the bright blue background.

I colored the images with Copic markers. I decided to color the girl studying's hair black.  I have never colored hair black before, but I think she looks sweet.
I stamped the sentiment on a rectangle and inked with Distress inks, wild honey.
I hope you like my design and you can see the versatility of Inspired Stamps stamp sets.  Visit Inspired Stamps by clicking here.  Please check out the other DT creations and have a great day.  Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of my card.
