Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello There.  We are back for Inspired Stamps DT Thursday.  Today we are featuring a recent set released for Father's Day cards or dad cards in general.  There are a few scripture verses (such as the one featured on the card) and other dad related sentiments (like Happy Father's Day).
I colored the dad image with Copic markers and added a gray woodgrain panel behind.  Some faux stitching around outer edge for some interest.  I wanted to keep it pretty CAS and masculine with a pop of color.  I am seeing more and more men wearing these bright pastel colors.  My DH wears a dress shirt and tie almost everyday to work so this image is perfect for him.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

 Hello and happy Thursday.  I have a new card using the Hymn Girl: Sitting Here Thinking stamp.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I fussy cut it out and then used foam tape to add to a die cut oval that I used distress inks to create a sky background.  I used a piece of brown cardstock embossed with woodgrain embossing folder, a piece of green Bazzill cardstock and a piece of the Madeline collection from BoBunny 6 X 6 paper pad.  The sentiment is from the Card Ministry Basic stamp set.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello Everyone.  The weather has cooled a bit and the leaves are starting to turn and fall from the trees so this beautiful time of the year is my inspiration for this weeks card.  The card was to contain a HLO, so I used HLO Thankful Girl and a 2 X 2 scripture. I colored her hair and skin with Copic markers and paper pieced her outfit (green is my favorite color, can you tell :) ).  I went back into my supplies and I had this large Sizzix leaf die and I thought the 2 X 2 scripture would fit and it did.  I cut it in a yellow orange and then used distress inks in oranges, red and brown to bring out the Fall colors.  I tied a ribbon around bottom notch of leaf for more visual interest.  I mounted everything onto a piece of Kraft cardstock that embossed with the woodgrain folder by Tim Holtz.  I also added some walnut stain to bring out more life and rounded the corners.  Please let me know what you think and I hope you are digging through your old tools and designing some new creations.  I am having a lot of fun using tools that I have had since I started crafting.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

 Hello Everyone!  It is time for another Inspired Stamps DT Thursday Christmas card.  This week I chose the HLO Nativity stamp set.  It comes with the manger, star, baby Jesus, Joseph, Mary and three sentiments, one of which I used on the bottom of the card, one I stamped on the inside of the card.  The third is a scripture.  I stamped the manger on the kraft card and woodgrain embossed and inked, but then decided to repeat and cut out the manger and pop dot to the background for more dimension.  I stamped colored (Copic, always seems to be my go to for coloring) and cut out all the images and attached to card.  I didn't know what colors to use for Mary and Joseph, but decided I wanted them to match.

Here is the full front of the card:  the sentiment reads Celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus!
I used a little brown and white Martha Stewart baker's twine.  I now have lots of color choices and hope to be using more and more in the future.  It is a simple card with a BIG message.  I hope you enjoy.  I have about 60 more Christmas cards to make before I am through for this year.  I love making Christmas cards, but my schedule always has me making them at the last minute.  Hope you all have a great day and you find time to get crafty.  I have trouble with masculine cards.  I really don't know what it is but I always seem to get a creative block.  I made both of my Father's Day cards with the Men of Favor set, Inspired Stamps.  For the First card I used some metal duct tape which I adheared to a piece of cardstock for more stability and used Spellbinders Sprightly Sprocket set. My DD really wanted this set and I put off purchasing it but I think they look great.  I had some of the sprockets go off the edge and under the scripture.  I used silver memory tape on two edges of the verse.

For my second card I used the woodgrain embossing folder by Tim Holtz and some phillips head brads.

I cut the window out of wood layer and black layer for a matte and used scripture from Men of Favor set and the Father's Day sentiment.  Father's Day is coming up take advantage of this awesome sale and pick up this set to make cards for the men in your life.  It has many verses and words to personalize your card.
