Hello it is Thursday. Where does the week go? Today the Inspired Stamps DT was asked to create a trio of "thinking of you" cards. I used the images from Card Ministry Basics and the sentiments from Thinking of You, both of these sets are very versatile and available for purchase in the Inspired Stamps Online Store.
I used a ticket die from Sizzix, Alterations, movers and shapers line and the banner from Spellbinders. I used an additional mover and shaper label die in the top card for additional dimension. I colored the images with Copic markers and fussy cut and adhered to card. I added glitter to tulips, and pearls to centers of the other two sets flower centers. I took a 3/4 inch circle punch and "clipped" corners of card base to mimic the ticket. Thanks for stopping by, please be sure to check out the Inspired Stamps blog for more terrific card sets and next week we will have a sneak peek of a new Inspired Stamps release.Thursday, March 28, 2013

Inspired Stamps- Thursday DT post
Inspired Stamps favorite Stamp to color
Hello everyone, it is Thursday and time for some more beautiful creations using Inspired Stamps. I love to color and do so with most of my cards. I know lots of card makers that do not like it, but I find it somewhat relaxing. I could not initially decide what stamp to color because I love to color them all but decided on using flowers. This week I used the set Thinking of You for the flower and the sentiment. I stamped the first flower and masked it off and stamped the second flower and then colored the image with Copic markers. For this first card I used the Sakura stardust pen to add some glitter and the silver pearl pen for the center of the flower. For the background I used Sizzix Awesome Blossom embossing folder and did a double letterpress technique. I inked the embosssing folder on the side with the flowers and leaves as the relieved area and ran through the Big Shot, then I used inks (all inks were distress inks for this technique) to color in the flowers and leaves to match my focal image.
For this second card I followed the same techniques described above except chose purple for my flowers. I used Spellbinders dies for the circle and large scallop circle and cut portion of image off to have a asymmetrical focal image. Not what I would normally do, but sometimes we need to step out of our comfort zone and try something new. I really like how these cards turned out and enjoyed trying "new" techniques in the process. I think I will be using them again in the future. Have a great day and do not forget to visit the Inspired Stamps blog for more inspiration. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some kind words about these creations. I do love hearing from you.

Inspired Stamps - Thursday DT post
Hello Everyone. Today I made a square swing card to showcase to Inspired Stamps sets, Hope Transformed and Butterflies and Blooms. I cut some grass with a Fiskars grass punch and attached to the bottom edge of the card with the caterpillar. I added the sentiment to front square panel and then when card swings open the verse Romans 12:2 is revealed with the beautiful butterfly from the Butterflies and Blooms collection.
These cards are fun surprises for the recipient because they are interactive. I love this verse isn't that just a beautiful reminder of what the Lord can do for us if we would read His word? I hope you have a great day and I hope you are seeing glimpses of Spring (not quite here in my neck of the woods, we are still seeing some flurries). Spring is how the Lord renews the earth.
Please be sure to check out these sets and the others used by our talented DT in the Inspired Stamps online store and check out all the other Spring projects at the Inspired Stamps blog.

Inspired Stamps- DT Thursday
Hello Everyone, it is Inspired Stamps, Thursday DT post. This week we were challenged to use the scripture of our choice to make a project. I have been trying to come up with ways to give a small gesture to those around us to let them know that they are on our minds and in our prayers. My family loves cinnamon rolls and we had tried the generic to see if they were the same as the name brand: our conclusion was that they were not exactly the same quality, but they did have a different delivery method for the icing which we liked much better. The icing is in a bag, that you cut off a tip to apply. Within the outer tube the icing bag is placed in a smaller cardboard tube with one end capped with a metal lid (I used two metal lids to make this project.) My husband placed the cardboard tube and lids (once cleaned ) on my craft desk and said "you can probably figure out a project for these". They sat there for weeks, but then it came to me and here it is.
I made a treat box. I used a 2 inch piece of paper and stamped Phil 4:13 from Tags set repeatedly. I inked the strip with distress inks (a purple and broken china). I made a tag using punches and sentiments from Tag set. I cut flowers in two purple hues of paper, inked and formed the flower for the lid and the tag.
For the inside: Who wouldn't like some chocolate treats? I stamped sentiments from the Card Ministry Basics set and punched with a 1 inch circle punch and adhered to bottom of chocolate pieces.
Here is a view of the treats in the box, with some of the sentiments showing. Don't you think this would encourage the recipient? My pastor recently said that when we give someone a gift, it really isn't about the gift, but it is about the love that we are expressing by giving the gift. That is so true, isn't it. Isn't great to know that someone was thinking of you? So it doesn't matter how much the gift costs (here just the cost of the chocolate, everything else was recycled or scraps of paper in my scrap pile :) ). Hope you enjoyed my project and that it inspires you to do a RAK for someone this week. You will make their day, if not their whole week. Ask God to place that special someone on your heart today. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. Please don't forget to check out what the other DT members made this week by stopping by the Inspired Stamps Blog and check out the stamp sets and many others at the Inspired Stamps Store. Go and check out some sneak peeks at the March release stamp sets.
