Inspired Stamps Christmas in July

Christmas in July here at Inspired Stamps.  The DT has put together some projects that are sure to motivate you to start working on your Christmas cards.  Every year I say I will start early and make my Christmas cards, but I am always making them right up until Christmas Eve.  I hope to do a better job this year, how about you?  Do you like making your cards ahead of time or are you always making them right up until Christmas?

For this card I used Winter Ruth and Perfect Christmas Sentiments, Inspired StampsWinter Ruth is so versatile since she can be used alone or you can add one of the six add-ons.  I chose to use the cross with a heart in it, since I wanted to use the sentiment Celebrating Jesus.  Since that is what Christmas is all about, the celebration of our Savior's birth.
I colored the image with Copic markers and added some white enamel paint for her "fur" collar and the snow.
The background was embossed with a Sizzix embossing snowflake folder and inked with Distress inks (broken china, faded blue jeans and walnut ink).  I spritzed the whole thing with shimmer spray.  I added the red border (dp My Minds Eye).
Remember that Inspired Stamps is continuing their sale of 25% off your order through July 31, go to the Inspired Stamps Store and shop for your favorites today and get a start on your Christmas cards.  Don't forget to check out the other DT blogs for more fabulous projects and ideas.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by last week and visited our Christmas tag blog hop.  I appreciated all your nice comments.  Have a great day and stay cool.

Inspired Stamps Blog Hop/Chirstmas in July

View JULY12.png in slide show It is Christmas in July at Inspired Stamps with 25% off your entire order July 15-31.
Inspired Stamps is kicking off Christmas in July with a layered Christmas tag blog hop, if you came from Jamie's blog you are on the right track.  If not, feel free to click here to start from the beginning at the Inspired Stamps blog.

I used HLO Choir Boy/Angel for my tag today with the sentiment from the Winter Ruth set (Inspired Stamps).  I just love his sweet face, don't you? I colored the image with Copic markers and added stickles to his halo and wings.
I added a layer of gray stone paper and a strip of music note dp (both from the Paper Studio).  I covered the seam with a piece of silver glitter ribbon to go with the glitter I applied to both my angel's halo and wings. I used foam tape to pop up angel on to the doily.  I stamped the sentiment on the same gray stone paper and cut apart the phrase, inked the edges with black ink for more dimension and glued it to the doily.  I also cut a washer from gray stone paper and placed it over tag hole and added a piece of silver velvet glitter ribbon.  Not your traditional red and green for Christmas but I think this tag would make any package shine.  Jenn's blog is next, click here.  Have fun on the hop and remember to take advantage of the Christmas in July savings at Inspired Stamps.

Inspired Stamps-DT post

Thank you for stopping by today.  Today the Inspired Stamps DT was asked to make creations that have a summer theme.  Easy enough huh?  Not for me.  I struggled with what to create.  I have been looking around the blog-o-sphere and two things spoke to me.  Using clouds as a background and using a dimensional element like the sun.  I hope you like what I came up with.

For today's card I used God's Creatures-Pets set by Inspired Stamps.  I thought the quote, "All things bright and beautiful.  All creatures great and small.  All things wise and wonderful.  The Lord God made them all" was a perfect addition to my blue sky with the bright and glittery sun..  I punched a scalloped circle from yellow cardstock and wrapped friendship cord around following the scallops 2X and then I added some adhesive and placed the rays behind the image.  I added a button to top and applied some stickles for som shine.  I also added some stickles to outline each die cut cloud image. I double matted the blue (SU!) cardstock with white and black for the card base. It definately reminds me of the the summer days we been having.  We are actually praying for some rain, to help the plants and to cool things off a bit.  I hope you have a great day and do not forget to visit the other DT blogs to see their summer creations and to share some kind words.  We love to get comments.  Also I want to remind you to check out Antoinette's blog, she is looking for DT members and I believe you still have time to send her your art work.  So check out her blog for more details.  All Inspired Stamps are made in the USA and orders ship out very quickly.

Inspired Stamps DT Choice

I hope you all had a safe and happy 4th of July.  It is a bit dry here, with a "no burn ban" in place so only a few places kept there scheduled fireworks show. We stayed in and enjoyed each other as a family.
Today the DT at Inspired Stamps was asked to make a project of our choice.  I have been busy this past week reorganizing my craft space and I have always loved this verse from the Guard your Heart set, so I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and make a whimsical piece of art for my craft space.
I used a piece of canvas and painted the background with acrylic paints. (Just some sky and grass.)  I taped some clouds in place and then painted the sky and removed the clouds.  I later added some snow glitter in the clouds for dimension and sparkle.  I stamped the verse from Philippians on a large die cut flower (Spellbinders) and highlighted the key words with chalk.  I decoupaged the whole image (flower, stem and leaves, Spellbinders).  I then added some 3D items, like the yellow flower (made with the Cricut) and the butterflies with bling.  Like I said this not my comfort zone, but it was fun to put all the elements together.  I hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by.  Please be sure to stop by the other DT blogs to see their projects which are sure to WOW you!
