Tweeny Teen Rock

Here are a couple of other versions of the MFT stamp set called Tweeny Teen Rock. I just love this image of the teenage girl sitting in her beanbag chair (which I made pink because it is my DD favorite color) listening to her iPod. The floral card base is DCWV and the striped card base is My Minds Eye. I colored the image with Copics and added some embellies.

Have a nice day.

Teen girl card

I was watching www.stampTV.com with GinaK. and she taught this chaulking technique making plaid background paper and then stamping with Versamark to and clear embossing. I liked the way it turned out and how it set off my image. Again I was "playing" with my Copic markers coloring the image. Copics are a BIG investment, but I have to say I have really enjoyed using them. I must be one of those people that is relaxed by coloring, because I really do not mind it at all.
Stamps: Teen rocks, My Favorite Things
Ink: Tuxedo black, Memento; Versamark
Paper: white cardstock, Georgia Pacific; blue background, DCWV; kraft cardstock, Stampin Up!
Tools: label die, PTI; flower dies, Spellbinders; corner chomper, We Are Memory Keepers
Embellishments: orange brad, The Paper Studio; orange suede ribbon, bought at local scrapbook store
I want to lift those who have been close to the path of destruction by these recent storms and tornados. We thank God for His protection on our family during last nights storm. It did some damage in our area, closer than we have ever seen it before. Please pray for those families that have lost everything.
Have a nice, dry (hopefully) weekend,

Rainbow butterflies

Hi, I am back again. I have been so busy lately I have not had time to keep up my blog. I hope that will change for a while and I will be able to post some of my creations. I have been trying the embossing technique of embossing the layers of the card together I will post a few of those in another post, but I thought I would try just adhearing the center of the butterfly to the embossed card base, sort of like the butterflies were mounted. I did not want to cut each of the stamped butterflies out by hand so I looked for a stamp that was close in shape and size to my Martha Stewart butterfly punch and found this rubber cling stamp by Cloud 9 Design.

I wanted to pull the colors back into the card, so I created an orange scalloped border with a thin red strip. The card base was cut down a tad and scalloped as well revealing a yellow scalloped piece on the inside (can't see in this photo). I thought this tied in all the colors nicely. I used Copic markers to shade in the center of the butterflies for more depth. Thank you again for looking and I would love to hear from you.

Faux fabric panel

I stamped a panel and colored with Copic markers then cut out with square die and embossed with Sizzix folder.

I just loved how it looked like a piece of quilted fabric. I cut a matte and then used border punch on bottom edge. The flower was stamped three times and cut out, cutting each layer one size smaller the than previous layer.

Paper: white cardstock, Georgia Pacific; black cardstock, The Paper Company

Ink: Tuxedo black, Memento

Tools: border punch, Fiskars; embossing folder, Sizzix; square die, Spellbinders

Techniques: coloring and shading with Copic markers, embossing colored panel to make look like fabric

Embellishments: brad

I really love this quick and easy technique, it adds a lot of texture and depth to project without a lot of bulk, which is important if you are planning on sending card through the postal system.

Thanks for looking, please feel free to leave me a comment.

How Sweet They Are

What a blesing to be able to watch the miracle of life from our kitchen table as this robin family built a nest, hatched four eggs, and is currently raising their children to fledgelings. We have been taking some pictures and video clips. We slapped this together quickly because it was too good to keep to ourselves. Enjoy!
