Unity- Friends With Flair

Hi Today is a Unity- Friends with Flair post.
I ordered some Unity stamps a while back and have been antsy to get them inky.  I made this with a sweet friend in mind.  I used the itty bitty "Hello my friend" set.

5 X 5 card using Marth Stewart punch all over the page crochet flower pattern
and itty bitty set Hello my friend.

I recently discovered these Martha Stewart punch all over the page punches and they have a gridded base help you align the pattern to punch in a straight row.  It is a wonderful effect for a card.  I do need to tell you that you will need some muscles to punch through (especially thick cardstock like this spring moss, PTI cardstock).  The directions say for best results, press top of punch evenly with both hands.  Use a cutting mat to protect your work surface.  By the ninth punch my hands were sore and I was not having the strength to punch through.  Thankfully my DH loves gadgets and was fascinated by my ability to align the pattern, so he was in the wings watching the process.  He punched the last one for me and said to "push on it like you were giving CPR".  I do love the effect, but I think I will have to perfect the technique.
Card Recipe:
Paper:  aqua mist (card base), spring moss, PTI; white, Georgia Pacific
Stamps:  hello my friend, itty bitty by Unity
Ink:  tuxedo black, Memento
Techniques:  punched background using Martha Stewart punch all over the page, crochet flowers punch; colored image with Copic markers
Embellishements:  crystal effects, SU!
Let me know what you think by leaving me some kind words.  Have a great weekend.

Inspired Stamps- Stamp It 3 Ways

Hello Everyone, Thank you for visiting today.  Today the DT was challenged to choose a $3.99 Individual scripture stamp and Stamp It 3 Ways.  These again were using some of the Inspired Stamps Favorites.  I chose 2 Timothy 1:7.  Recently we had a Women's Retreat and this was the theme verse, so it has a lot of meaning to me.  " For God has NOT given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of DISCIPLINE."  What encouraging words.  I hope you are encouraged by them.

All three of my creations using the $3.99 individual scripture stamp, 2 Timothy 1:7, Inspired Stamps.

5 X 5 square card using Spellbinder nestablilities labels 9 and blossom dies.
The leaves are Sizzlet die and dp paper is K and Company Julianne Collection.  The cardstock is Spring Moss, PTI and antique linen, SU!
I used antique linen, Ranger Distress Inksand rich cocoa, Memento to age and stamp scripture.

I made a two inch side panel from dp from Julianne Collection and stamped $3.99
individual scripture three times with rich cocoa, Memento ink.  I rounded the corners with a 1/4 inch
corner chomper.  The flowers were punched out of aqua cardstock, DCWV and inked on the edges.
I stamped the scripture again of dp and punched out flower and inked edges.

This is my third and final way to use the $3.99 scripture stamp.  I stamped it several times as a background on kraft and antique ivory cardstock, SU!  I punched a few flowers out of ivory cardstock and lined them up with the background on the kraft to give an interesting feel.  I stamped the scripture on a diecut for a focal image.
I hope you enjoyed the Stamp It 3 Ways this week, please check out the other DT blogs for their fabulous creations.  We love to hear from you, so please leave us some kind words.  Check out the Inspired Stamps store to purchase any of the February Favorites or any other great stamp sets.  The stamps are made in the USA and ship out very quickly.

Inspired Stamps- February Favorites

Welcome everyone to another Inspired Stamps February Favorites.

Close up of the scene created with cardstock and
Whimsical Trees stamp set, Inspired Stamps.

This week the DT was asked to design a project using some of the favorite scenery stamp sets.  I used Whimsical Trees.  There are several different trees in this set in two sizes.  I used the smaller trees in the background of my project and embossed them into the scene.  I stamped the larger trees on colored cardstock and cut them out and attached them to the project with pop dots.  I also cut two clouds and embossed and inked them before attaching with pop dots.

I also used Strength stamp set, Inspired Stamps for the sentiment.
I only inked part of the sentiment in rich cocoa, Memento ink.
I added a three dots with liquid pearls for balance.
Please be sure to check out Antoinette's blog, she is having a contest which ends Sunday at midnight.  She is designing a new stamp set and would like your input.  Please visit my fellow DT's blogs and give them some love by leaving a kind word.  We love to hear from you.  I hope that you were inspired today by Inspired Stamps.  Have a great day!

Inspired Stamps-February Favorites

Hello Everyone.  It is Thursday and time for a new Inspired Stamps post.  Check out the links under the DT, we have added a few new ladies to the DT while having to sadly say goodbye to a few.  Make sure to check out all of the DT blogs and leave them some love.  For the month of February we are going to be using some older stamps and stamp sets.  This week we are using HLO (His Little Ones).  I have chosen to use HLO: Girl Studying.  It reminds me of my dd.  I offstamped the scripture 2 Timothy 1:7 behind my girl.  I used pop dots to attach her for dimension.  This week I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and used gamsol to blend.  This gave her a very soft look that I love.  She is so sweet.
HLO: Girl Studying and 2 Timothy 1:7, Inspired Stamps
Ink is close to cocoa, SU!, coordinations cardstock for matte
and embossed piece, dp is K and Company.
Please be sure to visit Antoinette's blog for posts, contests and possible prizes in the month of February.  The DT will be using Inspired Stamps favorites all month long, so come back to see more fabulous creations.  Let us know what you think and have a great week.

Inspired Stamps- DT Favorites

Ask, Seek, Knock and Card Ministry Basics, Inspired Stamps

Candle and pocket calendar cover using Ask, Seek, Knock and Card Ministry Basics, Inspired Stamps

Hello Everyone,
Today the DT is designing projects using their favorite stamp sets.  Today is the last post for this current DT and we are losing two wonderful designers, who have decided to pursue other projects at this time, Deneen and Amber. So please make sure to visit their blogs, and wish them farewell, for now.  The rest of the DT love to hear from you as well, so please feel free to share some love with us as well.  Next week we will meet the new DT members.  Please check out the Inspired Stamps Blog, as well as the Inspired Stamps store for some great project ideas, contests and coupons.
For my project I chose to create a candle and a cover for a pocket calendar.  This one I purchased at Michael's in their dollar bins.
For the candle:
I cut a piece of white tissue paper slightly smaller than the height and width of the candle.
I stamped with Tuxedo black, Memento ink and colored images with Copic markers.
I wrapped the piece of tissue paper around the candle and held in place with a larger piece of wax paper (cut larger so that it will firmly hold the tissue paper to the candle but that you have excess to hang onto while heating with the heat gun-  this gets hot)
Heat with heat gun.  You will see the tissue paper melt into the candle wax and embed itself to the candle.
For the calendar cover:
Cut  a piece of cardstock slightly larger than the cover, when you score to allow for the folding it will be the correct size or you can trim off the excess.
Stamp images and color.
First I sponged a cloudy sky and some grass.
Around the door image, I decided to try something new.  I used the vine (stem with leaves), small heart and flower image to form a vine around the door.
Sometimes as stampers we only use the stamps for their intended design and do not combine with other sets and think outside the box, so I have been challenging myself lately to try to think of new ways to combine sets.  I hope you like what I did and are inspired to think differently about your stamps and discover the infinite combinations you can create.
Wouldn't these be a great gift of encouragement to someone in your life.  Encourage someone today, it will make you smile.
Have a great day!
