Inspired Stamps DT Post

Hello Everyone, Today my Inspired Stamps card was inspired by my brother.  His birthday is coming up and because it is so close to the 4th, when we were young the decorations and festivities of the 4th were always inspiration for his cake, so I thought I would go back to our days of youth and make him a patriotic card.  He also served in the military, so this is fitting.  I used Perfect Sentiments (Inspired Stamps) in Ladybug red (Memento) .  I made the rosette from patriotic papers in my stash (old, old, old) and added some tails from the Spellbinder banner set.   I used stars dp (also old, old, old from my stash) and a piece of red grosgrain ribbon for a border. My brother lives in the mountains, so I stamped a scene from Scenic View (Inspired Stamps) and the sentiment May the Lord Bless your day.  I just outlined the image with Copic markers and went over with blending pen for some interest.
I wish everyone a happy safe holiday and I encourage you to check out the other DT creations.

Inspired Stamps- Easel cards

The DT challenge this week was to make an easel card with scripture.  I decided to make a shaped easel card.  I used  my large scallop squares and  large classic squares for this card (Spellbinders).
I stamped the scripture Col 3:23 (His Plans for You) in Sea Breeze (Versa Magic Dew Drop). I am sorry it was hard to get a good picture of the text, but it looks great in person.
I cut a piece of rick rack from Hawaiian Shores felt (PTI) and made a large flower from dp (Totally Girl, My Mind's Eye) using Tim Holtz alterations tattered florals die.  I crumpled each flower and inked the edges with distress ink for more depth.
I added a few sentiments from this set as well. I stamped them in Rich cocoa (Memento).  We still have some graduation cards to give out and I thought this would be appropriate for those.

I used Spellbinder tags to make the inside sentiment and the "stop" to keep the easel open.  I used a piece of Hawaiian shores paper cut with scallop square as the card bottom.  Thank you for stopping by and please check out the other DT members with their easel card creations.  They are sure to wow.  Have a great day!

Puppy Birthday card

Here is a sweet puppy birthday card from the Mimi set by Penny Black.  I made this for one of DD besties for her birthday.

I colored him with Copic markers.  I cut the image with Spellbinders dies as well as the matte.  I love it.  Can you see on the purple matte the embossed dots on the edge?  Gorgeous.  I inked the main image with Distress inks for some interest.  I stamped "for you" with the same butterfly and punched out with circle punch.  I then punched a scalloped circle that wasn't large enough to matte the entire image so I placed it to the side with scallops peaking out.

Hope you have a terrific day!  Thank you for visiting.

Inspired Stamps- DT choice

Hello everyone.  Today at Inspired Stamps the DT could make any project of their choice, so you will want to be sure to check out all of the other projects, they are sure to be fantastic.
I decided to use my favorite verse Phil 4:13, this is an individual $3.99 verse stamp. I wanted to make an elegant card so I cut 3 tags from Spellbinders Fancy Tags set in summer sunrise, PTI and cut them in half and placed them around the circle with stamped sentiment.  It made a very nice elegant pendant.  I inked the edges with dandelion ink for some depth.
I embossed the gray piece with a Sizzix folder that had the same scroll pattern as the tag.  I lightly sanded the piece and rounded the corners.  Then I tied a piece of shear gray ribbon near the bottom of the panel before attaching to the white card base.  To finish off I added a few crystals (everything looks better with bling :) ).
Thank you for stopping by and look at your supplies and see how you might use it in a different way, like I did with tag and happy creating.
Don't forget to visit the other DT blogs to see their projects for this week.

Unity Friends With Flair

Hello Friends With Flair.  Wow, I am trying to get used to the summer schedule and having the kids around and still be able to create.  I really need my creative time, how about you?  Both of these cards have had elements finished on my desk for weeks, but I couldn't seem to get the whole card made.  Then I got my box of stamps in the mail.  I always feel like a little kid when they arrive, even though I ordered them and I know what is in the box.  But to be able to hold them in my hot little hands, yea!!!!

I saw a blog post by Cindy Coutts and she showed how to make "washi-like" tape with a roll of Post-it labels.  I didn't even know the product existed, but she showed how you could stamp your own backgrounds on the tape and use it on a card.  Low and behold in a bin near the registers at Office Depot, I see the rolls of Post-it tape.  It comes in many colors and it contains 58 feet per roll.  I chose white since it was the most versatile for me.  It says it sticks securely and removes cleanly, which I found to be very accurate.  I used bitty backgrounds and cut "V's" in the "custom washi tape"  So I had this part finished and adhered to my green card base and did not know what else to do.  When I saw this "so blessed", Unity Simple Stories.  I stamped in image in rich cocoa, Memento ink and used Copics to color parts.  I used a Spellbinder circles and flag and pennants dies to complete.  It is simple, yet sweet.

For the second card I had embossed that piece of Summer sunrise, PTI.  I was going to use it on a Valentine's card, but NO!  It had adhesive on it and I kept moving it around my desk (it was a good piece of cardstock I had to find a use).  I looked at this Everything in Love, itty bitty and thought it would fit in the Spellbinder pennant dies and yea! it did.  I used both the regular and lacey pennant dies.  I colored the heart with Copic and used same Copic marker on some twill ribbon to finish the project.  Again quick and easy.  And I used up pieces sitting on my desk. Bonus!
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by.

Inspired Stamps- Red, White and Blue

Hello everyone, happy Thursday to you all.  I am glad to back among the Internet this week.  Last week I had to go to McDonald's to use the WiFi to post (Thanks McDonald's for supplying the WiFi).  My kids didn't mind since they got milkshakes out of the deal.

Today at Inspired Stamps we were asked to create Red, White and Blue projects.  If you visited last week you know that was my color scheme for the military card, so this week I went with a different HLO (Thankful Girl) and gave her a patriotic look.  I used stars from Psalm 91 Protection set to use for her purse and headband.  I also used the star with United States of America from Psalm 91 Protection set.  I used some long forgotten Daisy D paper for the bunting.
The bunting was harder than I anticipated, but it could be that I have not crafted in a while and was out of practice.  My fingers just did not seem to work correctly. The scoring and folding the paper was fine, but to get in to stay in a semi-circle, not so easy.  Oh well, I hope you like it.  I think HLO Thankful Girl looks sweet dressed patriotically.
Have a great day and please check out the other DT members creations and give them some love by telling them what you think of their projects.  Thanks for stopping by.
