Inspired Stamps- DT Thursday

Hello and happy Thursday.  We have been having some beautiful, sunny weather here in the Midwest.  So it inspired me to make my own backgrounds to go with this stamp set.  I used distress inks to lay in the grass, sky filled with clouds.  I did this on two different sized circles and stamped John 10:27-28 in Versafine Black Onyx ink.
I stamped the sheep (individual stamp) in Memento Tuxedo Black and used Cool gray Copics and white enamel paint for texture.  I cut a banner and added another sentiment from The Lord is My Shepherd set and used some background papers from DCWV.
I had fun getting inky and creating my own backgrounds.  I hope you enjoy and meditate on this verse and thank God that no matter what, we are His and no one can snatch us from His Hand.  We are safe in His arms, this is so comforting.  I hope you find comfort in it today and have a wonderful day.
Thanks for stopping by and please check out the Inspired Stamps blog for more inspiration and find these stamps and many others in the Online Etsy Store.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello and welcome to the Inspired Stamps DT Thursday post.  Today we were asked to create a "mostly green" project. Green is my favorite color, it has always been a color to make me happy, so here is what I came up with.  I used the BoBunny 6 X 6 paper pack Enchanted garden.  There was this great "mostly green" chevron tile pattern.  I cut along the tiles to create a break and added my sentiment from His Word stamp set.  I also stamped the vase of flowers from this same stamp set and colored with my newly refilled Copic markers, pulling the colors from the paper.  I matted image on scallop oval green pattern paper from same pack.  I used one of my Copic markers to color the string and looped it behind the image.  I added some glue and seal to the one end of string to loop it and allow it to stay in that shape.  This was a quick and easy card but with some details to give it more interest.
Remember the 31 days of March Bible Journaling tutorials. Go to the Inspired Stamps blog for a link to that site.  New stamps added to the Etsy store so be sure to check them out and if you live in the U.S.  there is free shipping for all orders over $25.00.  Gotta love free shipping.
Have a great day, weather is warming up but also bringing a bit of rain in parts, so stay dry.  Create something to encourage someone today.  You will also be encouraged in the process.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello and happy Thursday.  I have a new card using the Hymn Girl: Sitting Here Thinking stamp.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I fussy cut it out and then used foam tape to add to a die cut oval that I used distress inks to create a sky background.  I used a piece of brown cardstock embossed with woodgrain embossing folder, a piece of green Bazzill cardstock and a piece of the Madeline collection from BoBunny 6 X 6 paper pad.  The sentiment is from the Card Ministry Basic stamp set.

Please be sure to check out the Inspired Stamps blog for more card ideas using this Hymn Girl line of stamps and be sure to visit the new Etsy shop to purchase these sets and many others.  All US orders of 25.00 or more have free shipping with code 25freeshipping.

Unity Friday Friends with Flair

Hello Friends with Flair,
Today I have a card that I made for my husband.  He loves the Lord, He loves giraffes and he wears bowties.  What a great combination huh?  Well I think so!
I used this beautiful giraffe from the Phyllis Harris set "Big Time Special".  I colored him with my copic markers and cut him out and added a bowtie to his very long neck.  The scripture stamp is from Hobby Lobby and the die cut is from the Spellbinders A2 card making kit.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend.

Inspired Stamps July New Release

Hello Everyone.  Today is the Inspired Stamps July Release.  We have several of individual stamps to be released, available for purchase in the Inspired Stamps Online store Friday at noon.
Today I used the new "Praying for you" it might be called "I am praying" in the online store.  I used Bazzill cardstock and Vintage Marketplace paper (also available in the Inspired Stamps online store).  The papers coordinate well with each other.  I love green, so I could not resist the green gingham checked paper with the beautiful roses.  I embossed the pink cardstock and inked with Vintage Photo distress ink.  I used Spellbinder dies to cut label shape and circle. I hand cut the tails on banners.  As a finishing touch,  I added a bow and some pearls that I colored with a Copic marker to match.
Please check out the other released stamps and the other DT members beautiful work.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Unity: Friday Friends With Flair

Hello Friends with Flair.  Has everyone survived this week with all the new snow and in some places ice?
I needed a baby girl card for some friends who were just blessed with their new addition to their family.  I like this set by Unity: Time and Season with the birds and the quote by Charles Dickens (Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of it's own) for new babies.  This family has an older boy and now three girls, so I colored the smaller birds to match their family and the larger bird I imagine is the mommy bird, daddy is away getting food or something.  With all the dreary winter landscape I decided to do something a bit more bright and full of life because isn't that what a new baby is all about?  Bringing new life and brightness (joy)  into our lives?  I colored the image with Copic markers and matted on a pink layer.  I punched a flower (EK Success) and added some leaves (McGill). I also added a yellow strip punched with the Martha Stewart border punch and placed it behind the image.  I added a sentiment inside:  Look who's here! Congratulations.
Update:  I have been sending cards out on a pretty regular basis, but I do not think I will reach 365 for the year unless we can count Christmas cards.  I hope you are also taking up this challenge and spreading some joy by sending your handmade creations to those who may need a blessing.
Have a great weekend.  Stay warm.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello everyone, happy Thursday.  There is "love in the air" at Inspired Stamps this week.  The DT was asked to make "love" projects.  I chose to make a 5 X 5 card, not my normal size, but with my new envelope punch board I can make any size envelope I want.  I will share more about this in a different post.
Today I used three Inspired Stamps stamp sets, Heart holding Girl HLO, Typewriter text lowercase alphabet and heart from Tags set.
Inspired Stamps Online Store is having a sale on some of the large stamp sets for a few more days, so go quick and check out the savings.
For this card I used different dp from MME, they were all in the same pack so they coordinated well. I cut the banner using Spellbinder dies, pennants and scallop pennants.  I used a Spellbinder die for heart circle around my HLO.  I used the classic circles to cut out piece to stamp and color my focal image.  I colored the image with Copic markers.
Please be sure to check out the Inspired Stamps blog and the other DT blogs for more ideas.
Have a blessed day and stay warm.

Unity Friends with Flair

Hello Unity Friends with Flair, it has been a long time since I have participated here.  I hope to be back to posting more regularly in 2014.  I had some Phyllis Harris stamps that I have not "played with" yet and I needed to few cards to send out in today's mail. Since these were going out in the regular mail, I needed to keep them relatively flat for proper delivery without the extra fee.

Stamps:  Your Wings Exist, Phyllis Harris Unity; Pretty Little Scripture, Clear Dollar Stamps
Tools:  Spellbinder dies ( A2 Fancy Postage Stamp, Ribbon Tag Trio Two and Lattice Rectangles
Techniques:  inked background with Tim Holtz distress inks and colored image with Copic markers

On bottom card I used dp by MME and sticky stitches (I have had for about a thousand years).
I am a hoarder of all things beautiful.  I collect them to use on projects and then cannot bring myself to use them because they are too pretty.  Is there anyone out there like me?  I have decided to start using the beauties in my stash.  How about you?  Some of you are fantastic about using "all things beautiful"   and I am envious of you.  I must break my need to hang on to everything, now is the time.
I read on someones blog that they were going to try to send out 365 cards this year, not one everyday, but maybe several  a few days a week.  I loved this idea and would like to try it myself.  I am not sure if I will be able to reach 365 but I would like to come close.  I know I love to receive "real" mail that is not a bill, or advertisement etc... I would love to receive a card, handwritten by a friend.  It always brightens my day, so I am going to make and send out cards to touch the people in my life and hopefully cause a few smiles along the way.  These two cards are my first of hopefully many more to come, I mailed them out today.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Fall is in the air and we have another Fall card for you.  I have pulled out my Cricut for the banner with the leaves and then inked it up with distress inks.  I decided to try some vintage book paper as the background.  I love books so this is sometimes difficult for me to use the book pages on projects, so I try to find books that have been well loved and now are too tattered for reading so that they can be repurposed into crafts and loved some more.  I cut some flags from the pennant Spellbinder die sets and stamped pumpkins on one and colored with Copic markers and stamped the verse, "In everything give thanks" and added a bit of burlap and a button.  What do you think?  The stamp set was Fall Gratitude and it is available in the Inspired Stamps store.  Currently there is a sale that will be going on until November 4, so stop by and take advantage.  Next week we will be posting some new release stamp sets so you will want to join us again for that.  At the Inspired Stamps blog you will find fun gifting ideas using the Inspired Stamps line, so be sure to check out those ideas and get crafting.  Have a great day and I hope you stay dry.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello, Today I have a card with this sweet HLO girl with heart, I colored her with Copic markers and added some gloss to the heart with glossy accents.  I added some interest to her skirt with the colorless blender to make the plaid and then went over it with white gel pen.  I used scripture from 1 Corinthians cut with scallop rectangle Spellbinders and used Spellbinder embossing folder for the bottom of card.  The ribbon is Martha Stewart.
Make sure to check out the other DT posts and go to the Inspired Stamps blog to see more ideas for Christmas gifts, the first two have been posted already, so if you missed them go to check them out and the third installment will be this weekend.  Check out these stamps and many others at the Inspired Stamps Store, all the Inspired Stamps are made in the USA.
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello everyone!  Another week almost gone.  Where does it go?
This week the DT was asked to create projects using our favorite HLO and scripture.  I just love Girl Studying HLO, she is so adorable.  I decided to place a piece of multicolored dp behind the focal image.  I colored her shirt in an orange stripe (good Fall colors) and cut and embossed the image and the matte.  I decided on yellow for the matte, it made the image pop more than the orange did.  I love Kraft card bases and I stamped the scripture right on the base.  I chose Proverbs 16:3 from His Plans For You set.  Since school is back in full swing, this seems to be a scripture I am reminding my children of often.  It is so hard to get back in the swing of school when the weather is so nice.
I hope you enjoy another CAS card from me.  Please remember to check out the other DT member blogs or the Inspired Stamps Blog to see more beautiful creations.  Also make sure to visit the Inspired Stamps blog on Friday for another installment of "How to Memorize Scripture".  Fun techniques to put scripture to memory and of course some beautiful art techniques as well.

Inspired Stamp Thursday DT post

Hello Everyone it is Thursday and we have a DT post using scripture of our choice.  Today I chose Proverbs 4:23 from the Guard Your Heart set.  I love this set with great scripture as well as images.

I chose clean and simple.   I used two pieces of Washi tape (black with polka dots) for background.  I embossed circle hearts on red square, added a piece of black stitched ribbon.  I cut a circle with Spellbinder die and embossed it.  I stamped my scripture and I felt it needed something else so I added the 3 punched hearts to go with the verse.  Last, I rounded two of the corners on the card base and voila, done.

I hope you like it, please leave me some kind words and let me know what you do to guard your heart.
Please be sure to check out the Inspired Stamps blog for all the other great DT designs and then on Fridays Antoinette is starting a new series so be sure to stop by and check it out.
Have a blessed day.

Inspired Stamps Thursday DT -one stamp 3 ways

One stamp 3 ways
Hello everyone, it is Thursday and what a busy week with school starting back for the kiddos.  With all the hustle and bustle I feel my card making skills are on hold.  This week we were to use one individual 2X2 scripture  ( I chose Romans8:28, we all need reminding of this scripture from time to time, don't we?) and make 3 different cards.  I chose to stay in the same color palette but chose different background papers and edgings.  I chose to add a bit of bling or pearls to each card.  The second card has a bit of Tim Holtz paper string tied in a knot at the top.  I used different dies to cut out the scripture and mounted each on foam tape.  Pretty simple but I feel these are also masculine enough to send to some of those men in our lives who bless us.  I am always in need of a masculine card.  Hope you have a great day, please pray for my family as we are embarking on many new journeys this school year.  Please feel free to check out the other talented DT creations by clicking directly on their links to the right or visit the Inspired Stamps blog.

Inspired Stamps Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to the Inspired Stamps Blog Hop.  Today the DT was asked to make a set of Christmas cards.  My cards were made using the music staff from the Sing For Joy set and the sentiments from Vintage Christmas set.  Please be sure to leave a comment to be eligible to win a stamp (either HLO Christmas Boy or HLO Christmas Girl).  One commenter will be chosen from each of the DT blogs to win their choice and one commenter from the Inspired Stamps Blog will be chosen to receive BOTH the HLO Christmas Boy  AND the HLO Christmas Girl stamps.  So leave each of us some kind words to eligible.

On each of the cards I used kraft as the card base.  I used Spellbinder pendant die to make the tree,  baker's twine, a button and the same dp.  I also used the open scallop on each of the cards.
On this card, I used the Joy to the World sentiment and made a 4.25 X 5.5 inch vertical card.
On this card, I used the Merry Christmas sentiment and made a horizontal 4.25 X 5.5 inch card.
For this card I folded an A2 size card and cut with the largest Spellbinder lacey scallop die. I used a circle die to cut the dp.  I attached the Oh Holy Night! sentiment to dp and cut excess to match angle of circle.
I hope you enjoyed my creations using the Sing for Joy and Vintage Christmas sets.  Be sure to leave a comment to be eligible to win and visit Kary's Blog next.

Inspired Stamps- Thursday DT

Today at Inspired Stamps we were supposed to create cards that reflect our style.  I don't know if I have one style.  I like cards that are clean and simple.   I like trying techniques, like inking, coloring, folds and paper piecing.
For this card I used glossy cardstock to stamp the Amazing Grace background in Versamark ink.  I allowed it to dry completely and then inked with peeled paint and faded jeans Distress inks and buffed with a clean cloth, then I went over image with black soot and buffed image again.  I stamped the image from Be Still Silhouettes   The image was cut with Spellbinder squares and the matte was Spellbinder lacey squares.  I cut the card with the square die and voila a lovey square card.  I love the ghosting of the words behind the image.
Thank you for stopping by today, please check out the other beautiful creations at the DT blogs and by checking out the Inspired Stamps blog.

Inspired Stamps Thursday DT

Hello everyone.  It is Thursday and today we are using HLO stamps and scripture to make our creations.  I made a card using girl studying HLO and scripture from Amazing Grace set.  I used Copic markers to color in the girl and cut and embossed using rectangle Spellbinder dies.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the bottom half of my card and a piece of Washi tape at "seam".  I used some punched hearts to fill in some of the spaces from the embossing and the larger of the punched hearts to make a flower mounted on a white circle with a black brad in the center to tie together all the elements.  It is a CAS card.  Thank you for stopping by today, please be sure to check out the other creations made by the DT.  Have a blessed day.  Check out the Inspired Stamps blog for more ideas.

Inspired Stamps June Release

Hello Everyone, it is time for a new release from Inspired Stamps.  There are lots of new 3.99 single scriptures, like 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 that I used in my project as well as many new HLO as can be seen at Deneeen, Kary and Gaby's blogs.

I decided to recover a notebook I purchased from Michael's in there $1.00 bin a while back.  I used some coordinating dp from DCWV, Lemon Flower and some silver glitter ribbon and some lace with green accents.  I used Spellbinder dies to cut and emboss the scripture piece and the matte.  I even finished the inside cover as you can see in the picture below.  This will be a great notebook to take down prayer requests or for bible study notes.  I heard something recently that resonated with my current situation "It is not well with my circumstances, but it is well with my soul."  This verse I used on my notebook project reminds us that no matter what we are going through we are to give God praise and rejoice, He will see us through if we will only ask.
I hope you have a great day and that you will stop and rejoice in your situation, no matter what it is because God knows and will see you through it.
Be sure to check out the new releases on Friday a 5pm at the Inspired Stamps online store and check out all the fantastic projects by the other DT by clicking on the blog links to the right and check out the Inspired Stamps blog for more great inspiration.

Inspired Stamps- DT Thursday

Hello, hello this Thursday.  Inspired Stamps has some incredible new alphabet stamps and the DT will be showcasing different ways to use the alphabets in their projects today.  I had seen a magnet board recently that caught my eye.  I went to the Dollar Tree and found these baking pans.  I bought a few, I even checked that magnets would stick to them before I bought them.  When I got home I made a plan.  I already had the clear, flat gems and sticky pads (both purchased at Dollar Tree and now just in my supplies waiting for the right project).  I covered the baking pan with dp containing scripture from Hobby Lobby.  I stamped the first letter of each day of the week, but used th for Thursday on a 1 1/4 inch circle punched out of white cardstock. I glued on gem with clear adhesive and then added strong magnet to the back.    I only had the lowercase alphabet, but I like the look.  I made a library pocket with template out of coordinated paper and used a Spellbinder die for banners.  You could add words for things you or your family do most often, like Bible study, AWANA, meetings, orthodontist, doctor, etc... but then have a few blanks in the pocket to add new items.  The sticky pad and library pocket were attached with magnets, so they can be moved around or taken down to better write a note and placed back on baking sheet.  This same concept could be made into a menu board, if you are good about planning out the week's menu.  I know that is the first thing my kids every afternoon when they come in from school, "what's for dinner?" The answer could be on the menu board.
I hope you like my project, it was very inexpensive and easy to do and I love the results.
Please let me know if you have any other ideas you could use a magnet board like mine and leave the suggestions in my comments area for others to be inspired.  Check out the Inspired Stamps blog for more great ideas by the DT and check out typewriter text lowercase and all the others available at the Inspired Stamps store.

Inspired Stamps-DT Thursday Mother's Day

Good Morning.  I hope you are having a great Thursday.  Today at Inspired Stamps, the DT is thinking about Mothers and making Mother's Day cards.  I used Proverbs 31 set and flowers set.  I made three very different cards.
The first card in green and pink, I used Prov 31:28 on outside and inside I stamped "Happy Mother's Day".  The flowers and butterflies were made with punches or flower dies.  I added a bit of bling to the butterflies.
On this second card I chose a different color combo, thinking personally of my own mom.  She loves red.  I did a bit of piercing stitching lines, added a bit of lace and used white ink on black cardbase (a bit of chalkboard look). Used Spellbinder die to stamp same verse as above.
I punched four squares from four coordinating colors.  I then stamped this large flower from the flowers set and stamped the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment by inking each word and stamping separately to fit within punched circle.  I used pop dot to attach to flower center added a ribbon and voila a bright, beautiful and simple card.  This could be used for any occasion.
Thanks for stopping by and I would love to know what you think.  Do you have any special gift ideas planned for your mom, mother in law, or other special lady in your life?  Share your ideas with the rest of us.  Please make sure to check out these and other beautiful sets at the Inspired Stamps Online store and the other beautiful work by our DT at the Inspired Stamps blog.
