Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello and happy Thursday,  The Inspired Stamps DT is back with projects today.  I chose to make a treat box to give some candy to my students for Easter.  These little boxes are made with a 3.5 X 11 inch piece of cardstock, so you can get two out of one 8.5 X 11 inch piece of paper or 3 out of a 12 X 12 inch sheet with a little left over from each to make the tags.  I found this box design on Pootles.co.uk YouTube channel and it is the perfect size to house 10-11 chocolate eggs.
I cut my piece of cardstock and stamped the background with Inspired Stamps floral images from the Thinking of You set and Spring Sketches and ombre ink pads.  I used His Cross for the sentiments.  I wanted to keep the focus on Jesus, so I chose "Celebrating Jesus this Easter" and "Happy Easter".  I stapled the ends of the tube and added a ribbon. I also used a punch to create a window, to allow a "sneak peek" at the treats. These are quick and easy, beautiful treats that are sure to brighten anyone's day.
Have a blessed Easter and Celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave some kind words as you visit the other talented DT blogs.  You can buy all these stamps by visiting the Etsy shop by clicking on the "Shopping Anyone?" button.  Be sure to stop by the Inspired Stamps blog for more inspiration.

P.S.  If anyone wants directions on how to make these, please leave me a comment.  I would be glad to explain how they are made.

Inspired Stamps- Thursday DT post

Today the Inspired Stamps DT are creating Spring/Easter themed projects.  Easter is just a few weeks away, so this is a good time to start thinking of making your Easter cards if you haven't done so already.  If you are needing a bit of inspiration, today's post may be helpful.  I used the Inspired Stamps set: His Cross for my card.  I used the cross focal image and two of the sentiments.  This set also has two scripture verses, so it is a nice, versatile set.  Water coloring is very popular currrently, so I masked off the cross and water colored the background with various Distress Inks, I then cut out the image using a Tim Holtz die and water colored the image with more distress ink.  I added a bit of grass and a few flowers.  The sentiment on the front was die cut with a piece of the remaining background.  I diecut another layer in black and embossed to add a bit of texture.  I embossed the white layer and added to a black card base.

For the inside:  I stamped same
focal image in a gray ink and then the second sentiment.
I hope you enjoyed my card.  Please leave a comment.  If you are interested in any of the these or other Inspired Stamps, please visit the Etsy shop by clicking on the Shopping Anyone? link.  To see other projects, please visit the Inspired Stamps Blog or the other DT blogs by clicking on the links provided.  Have a great weekend.

Inspired Stamps Bible Journaling DT Post

Hello everyone, Inspired Stamps is back today with some bible journaling inspiration.  I have seen scripture mixed media cards and I have been wanting to try.  I am new to mixed media, it definately takes me out of my comfort zone but it was fun.  I used IS Labelmaker Verses.  I stamped the Phillipians 4:13 verse on DCWV dp and cut all the words apart.  I wanted some of the words to be off kilter and emphasized with different color.  I added some Gelatos and stencil paste in the background and then glued on a cork heart and a handmade tiny rose.
Please let me know what you think.  This is my favorite verse and these are colors that make me happy.  It was a fun process but I think I definately need to play some more.
Have a great day and do not forget to visit the Inspired Stamps blog for more ideas and visit the Inspired Stamps Etsy store by clicking on "Shopping anyone?" tab.  Check out the other DT members to see what they have come up with.  Have a blessed weekend.

Inspired Stamps Thursday DT

Hello Everyone, Welcome back to the Inspired Stamps Thursday DT post.  Today we are bringing you some love themed projects.
My first project is a flat canvas board that I made a small piece of art for my desk.  This verse is always a good reminder to us all, as followers of Christ "to guard our hearts"  so we can be a "light" to those around us.  I have been playing with mixed media a bit lately, but I find I still "play it safe" with a clean and simple design.  I have watched tutorials of how artists layer many things on their backgrounds, before adding the focal images.  These always turn out stunning but it will take more practice on my part to feel comfortable with it all.  I started by applying Gesso to canvas, then some modeling paste through a heart stencil.  I allowed all to dry and then added some metallic Gelatos.  I allowed this to dry and added the focal images: scripture is from Guard your Heart set and girl is Hymn girl January and then some punched glitter hearts.  I like how it turned out and can't wait to play again with more.

In case my mixed media canvas was not "love themed" enough I made an easel card.  For the card I used BoBunny paper in the Madeline collection, Hymn Girl February, Typewriter Text  Uppercase Alphabet by Inspired Stamps.  The love is a diecut using a die from My Yellow Bicycle to cut glitter craft foam.  I used distress inks on the edges and a bit of Tim Holtz lace and voila.  Please be sure to visit the Inspired Stamps blog for more inspiration. We have a very talented DT and you can click on the buttons that will lead to their blogs on the right.  Also if you are interested in purchasing any of the stamps I used or want to see more please click on the button under "shopping anyone?" and it will take you to the Etsy store where you can purchase these and many others and bonus, if you live in the US you can get free shipping.  I love free shipping!
I hope you take the time to tell those around you that you love them not just on Valentine's Day but everyday.
Have a blessed day.  Share your love.

Unity- Friends with Flair

Hello everyone.  It is Friday.  It has been a busy day.  I was out most of the day running errands, so I was not sure if I would make it home to post my card.  I tried to post a few weeks ago and the link had already closed so I missed that opportunity.  Summer schedules are a bit crazy, but trying to create whenever I can get the chance.

For today's card I used the Itty Bitty by Angie Blom called Sunflower-miss you friend.  I added the sunflowers to a mason jar and colored with Copic markers.  I punched a lace border (Martha Stewart) and added a strip of pattern paper.  I thought the top looked a little empty and added a bit of washi tape and a button.  (The washi was in the "as is" section of Michael's, it had lost its packaging but was still really cute, looked in good shape and bonus was a quarter the price of the original. We all through out the packaging anyway, so it was a great find.  Check out those "as is" sections in your Michael's and you might also find a great bargain).

The sentiment came from a Jillibean soup set with the tag and I tied it with brown and white baker's twine.
Fun, sweet card.  Thank you for stopping by, I love to hear from you all.  Let me know what "bargain" you have found recently.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello There.  We are back for Inspired Stamps DT Thursday.  Today we are featuring a recent set released for Father's Day cards or dad cards in general.  There are a few scripture verses (such as the one featured on the card) and other dad related sentiments (like Happy Father's Day).
I colored the dad image with Copic markers and added a gray woodgrain panel behind.  Some faux stitching around outer edge for some interest.  I wanted to keep it pretty CAS and masculine with a pop of color.  I am seeing more and more men wearing these bright pastel colors.  My DH wears a dress shirt and tie almost everyday to work so this image is perfect for him.

I hope you enjoy the inspiration from the rest of the DT by clicking on the tabs to the right or visiting the Inspired Stamps blog, as always you can purchase these stamps and many others at their online Etsy shop.
Thanks for stopping by.

Finishing Strong-Operation Write Home Blog Hop

Hello everyone.  Glad you could join the fun for OWH's final campaign. Operation Write Home, a charity that has supported heroes with handmade cards since 2007, will be closing later this year.  All cards need to be sent in by August 1st, so I am helping to get the word out.  If you have cards and have been meaning to send them to OWH, do so before the deadline.  They will not take any more cards after August 1, 2015.

Today I made a Any Hero card using Inspired Stamps: HLO Soldier boy and Psalm 91 Protection.  You can check out these stamps and many others at the Inspired Stamps Etsy Store. I used papers from Pink Paisley Pen Pal collection.  I liked all the patterns in red, white and blue.  I used OWH sketch #234.  OWH has lots of sketches to use for inspiration.
Thank you to Sandy and all the other OWH helpers and cardmakers for supporting our troops in this way, what an awesome way to tell our men and women in the armed services that we appreciate their hardwork and sacrifices for our country.  Thank you for stopping by today and be sure to thank the soldiers in your life for their service and lift up their families in prayer.
