PTI July Blog Hop

Here is the inspiration photo for this months PTI blog hop.

Here is my interpretation. First I love the Mehndi Medallion stamp set that I just purchased this weekend at Stamp-a-faire. I wanted to try something different with it so I stamped it several times in Memento Tangelo ink, SU Brocade blue and Memento Rich Cocoa. I then cut by hand (will be looking for a circle or scallop to cut it out in future) or punched out parts of the image with various sized circle punches and popped up each layer with pop dots.( I attempted to show that in bottom photo).

I also purchased the dies for Turning A New Leaf die set and I cut it out of Spring Moss. I used the sentiment out of the exclusive Iconic Images set in Memento Rich Cocoa ink. We had a lot of fun over the weekend and met a lot of talented people. Thank you PTI for a great event.

Please leave me a comment, I would love to hear from you. Have a great day.

Musical Thank you

My dd recently had a piano recital and I made this thank you card for her piano teacher. We think the recital is just as important to the instructor as the student. So we always like to give the teacher a little something to show our gratitude.

This is the card that I came up with this year. The rubber stamp is by Stampendous and I cut the image with Spellbinders and with the die still in place inked with Distress Inks and then matted in purple. I colored the flower with Copic markers and I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and inked it a bit as well. I used some velvet stiched ribbon that I had purchased at Michaels for a finishing touch.

Dandelion with Sympathy

Hello everyone,
Where has the time gone? We have been so CRAZY busy trying to create more space in our home. Who knew it would be so difficult and take so long. We were just moving rooms and throwing out stuff. How hard can that be?
Anyhow, I do have a new crafting space and I still need to make some tweeks as to where some of my equipment should live. My daughter is testing out the space with some craft projects of her own, but I think overall she digs my digs.

For the card I just needed something CAS, so this is what I came up with. I used the dandelion stamps from Autumn Leaves, the sentiment from Stampin' Up! and some crinkled chocolate brown ribbon. I really liked the effect. I added a little dot of white enamel in the centers of the flowers.
Wishing you the best.
